Delving into the adidas brand archive we can find many unknown models. These include retro-running silhouette, which Gary Aspden - curator of adidas Spezial – has in his private collection . We can simply say "it" about this shoe because it has never really been named! As you know, adidas designers like such rarities. That "it", the 80's running shoe, became the base for adidas Glenbuck. The classic-looking retro silhouette is equipped with the well-known "Dellinger Web" - a mesh that strengthens the sole. However, the new silhouette has something else. Its name - adidas Originals Glenbuck SPZL is not accidental! It is a tribute to Bill Shankly - a Scottish football coach who was born in the village... Glenbuck! What's more, Bill's birthday date was placed inside the shoe. With the arrival of the spring / summer 2018 season, adidas Spezial raises the curtain to reveal its next face. This time, the adidas Originals designers took started working on the late 80’s. More specifically, it's inspired by the second "Summer of Love". This year is celebrating its 30th anniversary, so nobody should be surprised by the desire to celebrate it. Designers of adidas, taking up the theme of the jubilee, decided to include in the new collection the electronic spirit rave and acid house, straight from the British scenes. There were also pastel shades and pop culture references, combined with the sports heritage of the brand and the breath of modernity. What exactly did the adidas Originals prepare for us? A package containing several models of shoes (both older and new ones), clothing and accessories. Everything is accompanied by: adidas Originals logo, adidas Spezial and occasional "party" graphics. The rich collection of adidas Spezial has been divided into 2 drops. The first of them will be on store shelves on 9/03/2018, while the second one can be found 2 weeks later - on 23/03/2018. The whole confusion is accompanied by a clip and a lookbook, captured on probably the most partying island - Ibiza. The adidas Glenbuck men's sneakers have a nylon upper made of natural leather. The whole was complemented by an element on the heel made of synthetic leather, textile stripes and TPU laces. The monolayer upper of nylon also acts as an inner padding next to which the removable insert is placed. The sole, on which the upper rests, was made in the middle part with EVA cushioning foam, while in the outer part there is an adhesive rubber. adidas Glenbuck shoes are equipped with an extra pair of shoelaces.
